One of the easiest ways to maintain a pages contents as a single file on your computer using Internet Explorer.
Navigate to the webpage you want to save.
Goto -> FILE -> SAVE AS
Place the document where you would like it and change the "SAVE AS TYPE" from the drop-down list to "WEB ARCHIVE, SINGLE FILE"
It will create a file with an extension ".mht".
Inside of this single file will be the pages complete content layout, colors, graphics, however some embedded objects such as flash of videos will not be saved.
Enjoy.
